FRANCISCO SOUTO is a Venezuelan-born American artist known for his meticulously detailed, multimedia work exploring themes of sociopolitical unrest, migration, and human resilience. While rooted in photorealism, his compositions often carry a surrealist edge that invites deeper reflection. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally, earning more than forty-five national and international awards. Recent highlights include participation in the 60th Venice Biennale (2024), State of the Art 2020 at Crystal Bridges, Made in the Plains at the Joslyn Art Museum, and The Lorenzo il Magnifico Award at the Florence Biennale. He lives and works in Lincoln, Nebraska.
