NANCY FRIEDEMANN-SANCHEZ is creating a visual novel that is composed of art works that weave a synchronicity of narratives about hybridity and cultural ownership. She is in the Feminist Art Base at the Brooklyn Museum and participated at the 20 Congreso Internacional: La Experiencia Intelectual de las Mujeres en el Siglo XXI in 2012 in Mexico City. Shows include the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Miami Museum of Contemporary Art, Blue Star Contemporary, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, La Bienal de Cuenca, Ecuador, the Sheldon Museum of Art, the Portland Museum, El Museo del Barrio and Bronx Museum of the Arts. She was awarded the Doctorow Prize, a Nebraska Arts Council Grant, a Smithsonian Fellowship, a Puffin grant, a Pollock-Krasner, and a NALAC grant. Her work is collected by the Nerman Museum, Duncan Aviation, Jose Mugrabi, the Sheldon Museum, El Museo del Barrio, the Cleveland Museum, and the University of New Mexico Art Museum.
