After the Animal Science Husbandry Building came down, the first "famous" brick was sold to generate scholarships in 1987. Ben and Alma Grant of Pasco, WA generously purchased the No. 1 Brick and had the vision to donate it back for resale each year. The resale of the No. 1 Brick and has continued to generate funds to support animal science students through scholarships.
