For decades, Mr. John Downs has literally traveled the world to search, study, and procure elite genetics in various breeds of cattle as he developed Southern Cattle Company into one of the finest seedstock and agricultural operations in the country.

With his lengthy quest to assemble and reproduce the absolute best cattle for each of his many customers, Mr. Downs recently decided to slow his daily pace by downsizing the entire ranching operation. As with most worthy endeavors, time seems to pass way too quickly. In the Autumn of his life, he is now desirous of spending more time with his large family and our Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. and Mrs. Downs will forever cherish the the wonderful friendships, and the amazing places visited within the last 40 years. For this, they extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has accompanied them on their extraordinary journey. 

God has been good to Southern Cattle Company, and now, the Downs family wants to share these blessings by offering their outstanding frozen genetic inventory for sale to everyone in the cattle industry.

Moving forward with the next chapters of their lives, they also look toward helping the next generation of ranchers benefit with genetic opportunities.  Due to the extensive volume of semen and embryo inventory deriving from sixteen (16) breeds of cattle, Southern Cattle Company "Sharing the Collection" sale(s) will have something for every cattle breeder in North America.

This Auction has a horse race style finish. Every time someone bids during the last 5 minutes of the auction the clock will extend 5 more minutes until no one bids for an entire 5 minutes. Please note that this countdown duration may be changed without notice during the auction.

SmartAuctions will invoice all buyers and release the lot after payment is received. PAYMENT IS DUE UPON RECEIPT. A credit/debit card will be required ONLY to verify identity of bidders, but you will not be charged for your purchases on your card UNLESS you choose that option or you have not paid for your purchases prior to 12 days after the auction closes. Your credit card will be charged if payment has not been received within 12 days after purchase or arrangements have not been communicated. If your credit card payment is declined at the 12 days your purchase will accrue an interest of 6%. If you pay with a card you will be charged a 5% transaction fee.
