Imagine one integrated user-friendly platform that will empower anglers and community members with the information they need for their fishing trips while promoting responsible stewardship and conservation of the Snake River Headwaters. That's the goal of the new Snake River Headwaters Watershed Group's Data Dashboard.

The Snake River Headwaters Watershed Group - a collaborative watershed group with over 200 members that brings a broad coalition of partners together to ensure a resilient and healthy Snake River Headwaters ecosystem with clean and ample water to meet the needs of current and future generations -has identified the need and is leading the effort to launch a comprehensive data dashboard to centralize real-time and other watershed data for the Snake River Headwaters watershed. A similar effort completed by the Henry's Fork Foundation for the Henry's Fork of the Snake River will serve as an example for our efforts. This tool will improve accessibility to critical information on water quantity and water quality, benefiting anglers, boaters, agency managers, and the conservation community. The dashboard will be completed in phased installments to allow for project feasibility and user feedback integration.

Phase 1 is likely to include real time fishing conditions (streamflow, water temperature, some water quality parameters) and trip planning tools (river hazards, reservoir levels, weather and river forecasts, etc). Future phases are likely to include water quality insights, an early response system for high fishing temperatures, groundwater level information, and habitat restoration project information.
