About Laclede:
5 years old, Male, 60 pounds
Laclede arrived at Stray Rescue in January 2024 after being found on the train tracks near the Laclede Train Station in St. Louis. When he came to us, he tested positive for heartworm and underwent intensive treatment. The recovery was tough on his body-and mind. Laclede is a dog who thrives on attention and mental stimulation, and during this difficult time, he began to struggle emotionally. Despite these challenges, Laclede has made incredible progress over the past several months. We would love to find him a forever home-one that understands his behavioral history and can provide the stable, supportive environment he needs to continue thriving.

On his best days, Laclede is a happy, goofy boy whose nub of a tail wags nonstop. He loves toys, and he lights up when he's around his people, however, it takes some time and patience to become one of his people. He isn't the right fit for every household. He needs structure, consistency, rules, and someone who can set clear, loving boundaries-not to be strict for the sake of it but to protect him and keep him out of trouble. If you're patient, committed, and looking for a loyal companion who will greet you like you hung the moon, Laclede just might be your perfect match.

*If you are the winning bidder and are not in attendance to pick up your item(s) the night of the event at the Four Seasons Hotel artwork will be available for pick up from the Pine Street Shelter starting Wednesday, August 13th. Artwork will NOT be available to pick up before this (unless you are notified otherwise via email). If you are not local to the St. Louis Area, shipping is available for this item upon request (for an additional cost which will be calculated for each piece individually). All winning bidders will receive an email with more information once the auction has closed.
