About Firecracker:
3.5 years old, Female, 112 pounds
Firecracker was found by a Good Samaritan on a freezing cold day in a crate with firecrackers in it. She was in rough shape when she arrived, and she broke everyone's' hearts. Her front right paw was so swollen, her ears were infected, and she was clearly in a lot of pain. She was also Heartworm Positive, so after her physical injuries healed a bit, she underwent heartworm treatment.
It took Firecracker a while to let her guard down, but eventually, she found some really good friends in Stray Rescue staff and volunteers. They take such great care of her and make sure she gets plenty of activity and enrichment, while always being mindful of her injured paw. Her paw will always be swollen due to loose skin, but her friends always keep an eye out to make sure she can get around. Firecracker is still hoping that one day, she will get to live in a home with an experienced family who can give her the life she deserves.
Status: Firecracker is a member of our One Love Club, and she is available for foster or adoption.
