"Through his mane and tail the high wind sings, fanning the hairs, who wave like feather'd wings." was the line from Shakespeare that inspired this limited edition print by Bev Doolittle, "Eagle's Flight. Published in July 1982, signed & numbered 30/1500 , this 35 1/2 " x 19 1/2" print portrays the words in both a literal and a symbolic way. Bev arranged the horses in a state of fluid motion to emphasize speed and power. On a more symbolic level, the horses and Indian are arranged in such a way that all the dark colors in the painting would create the image of an eagle in flight. The use of eagle feathers as decoration on the horses was also to emphasize the feeling of flight.
