Three Premier Cru Wines from Elite Estates in France!
First Growth or Premier Cru is the highest classification of Bordeaux wines. There are only five First Growth wines, which are exalted as a league above all others in Bordeaux. Enjoy these three First Growth wines or add to your collection!
Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac (Premier Grand Cru Classe') 1996
Chateau Lafite Rothschild is known for producing what some tasters think is the best, and perhaps, the most refined on the First Growths, as well as one of the most expensive wines in the world. This massive wine may be the biggest, largest-scaled Lafite I have ever tasted. It should unquestionably last for 40-50 years (Robert Parker, 1999).
Chateau Latour (Premier Grand Cru Classe') 2002
If I had to choose today, this would be my pick for the wine of the vintage. It is a colossal, remarkably concentrated, highly extracted, formidably endowed Latour as well as a potential legend in the making. The brilliant 2002 Latour is a tour de force from a great estate that has hit all cylinders. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2045 (Robert Parker, 2003).
Chateau Margaux (Premier Grand Cru Classe') 2007
Chateau Margaux is a winery of great class and charisma and is one of the most famous wines in the world. This First Growth wine is a great example of the subtle crafting possible in 2007. The elegant 2007 Chateau Margaux's purity, depth of fruit, and overall equilibrium are impressive. (Robert Parker, 2010).
