Wood Thrush Harmonies: Exclusive Banding & Art Experience

Step into the song-filled world of the Wood Thrush with an exclusive experience that marries conservation science and fine art. Join Indiana Audubon's Chasing Melody project for a rare, behind-the-scenes spring banding session at either the Indiana Dunes or Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. This private outing-designed for up to four guests-grants intimate access to the process of capturing, banding, and Motus tagging this beloved migratory songbird. As part of the journey, you'll adopt a tracked Wood Thrush and follow its migration online.

Commemorate the experience with a handcrafted, limited-edition 12x18 woodblock print of the Wood Thrush, created by Wildwood Press artist and Indiana Audubon board member, Matt Rees. His piece, printed on archival paper and beautifully framed, captures the spirit and serenity of the forest's flutist in timeless form.

This is more than an outing-it's a celebration of song, stewardship, and the magic of migration. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with one of Indiana's most iconic forest birds in both field and form.

Note: Banding dates will be weather dependent during the short banding season, expected to be late May-June at Mary Gray, and the first two weeks of June in the Indiana Dunes.
