Chris Gregson studied at the New York Studio and Forum of Stage Design. He worked at the Metropolitan Opera and theaters throughout New York City. His paintings are in the corporate collections of Capital One, Kaiser Permanente, Markel Corporation, SunTrust Bank, the permanent collections at the American Embassy in Guinea, Africa, Longwood University in Farmville, Taubman Museum in Roanoke, Virginia, and an assortment of prestigious private contemporary art collections. He has had one person shows at 1708 Gallery, Virginia Tech, Mary Baldwin University, University of Mary Washington, Randolph Macon College, ADA and Reynolds Gallery among others throughout the northeast. He has been in many group shows and notable traveling exhibits including the "The Garden" and "Constructs". These shows have toured museums, university galleries, and art spaces across the United States. Mr. Gregson, was an artist in residence at the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, France in 2022 and 2023. Gregson had a recent exhibit at Art First, Richmond. an upcoming show in September at Fred Schnider Gallery of Art, Arlington Virginia and at Lewis and Clarke University , Idaho as part of the "The Garden" exhibit in June. His work has recently been auctioned locally at 1708 Gallery in 2024. He recently published a book called Intersections: Journal Excerpts, 2020 -2025. Gregson will be returning to Paris for an April residency at the Cite Internationale des Arts. He has been a guest critic and speaker at Virginia Commonwealth University, lecturer at the SouthEastern College Arts Conference, and a speaker at Virginia Association of Museums and at universities along the east coast.
