1 iron shot to the 18th green during the final round of the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club. Considered one of the most famous photographs in the history of golf. Less than a year after a near fatal crash with a greyhound bus, Hogan made a miraculous recovery to play in the U.S. Open. He hit his famous 1-iron shot on the 72nd hole to set up par and force a playoff. He won with a score of 69. This victory became known as part of the "Hogan Comeback" and solidified his status as one of the greatest golfers of all time.
