Beautiful artwork collaboration created by Vicki Rumsey and Arkansas Children's patient Robby, age 3.

ABOUT ROBBY

At birth, Robby was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock due to a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) which required surgery the next day. His parents say that during their stay, Robby's care team went above and beyond and took the time to get to know them and build a strong relationship with them, which they appreciated. Robby enjoys playing outside and anything with wheels! He loves finding the moon and looking at the stars and, one day, he wants to be an astronaut and take his Dad to space.

ABOUT THE ART
From the artist: Our piece was truly designed by Robby, the former patient. He selected all the colors and did most of the painting himself with a little help from his family. When looking at the finished piece, it reminds me of a lake with the sunsetting (abstract of course).

Vicki Rumsey has been painting for over 30 years and mostly does landscapes or portraits. Colorado and New Mexico are some of her favorite landscapes to paint. When she heard about the chance to paint with her grandson Robby, she couldn't pass up the opportunity!
