Hermene is one of the most significant and influential Black women in media and American publishing. She is a rounded media personality addressing the soul, spirit and sensibility of America with insight, curiosity, historical context, wit, and reality. Hermene is the founder & CEO of NDIGO, Chicago's leading African American newspaper; a radio personality for "Views of the Heart," a daily radio social commentary; a blogger at Huffington Post and Chicago NOW. She holds four college degrees in Sociology, Philosophy of Education, Psychology, and Business and was the Vice Chancellor of External Affairs at City Colleges of Chicago. Hermene is often called upon by media outlets like The O'Reilly Factor, CNBC, FOX, WVON, ABC, NBC, and WGN Radio and TV to comment on politics and election night analysis. She is the author of two books, A Lasting Impression: A Collection of Photographs of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a book of poetry, Love Moods.
