Enhance your home with a work by Tacoma-based painter Emily Wood (American, born 1969). The piece, entitled Nason Creek Oxbow, is oil on paper, 17 x 24 in., c. 2000.

Emily Wood is known for her deft handling of color, from subtle value shifts to intense hues, creating landscapes that boldly dramatize the region's varied geography. Wood's colorist interpretations focus on Northwest regions -- scenes of mountain lakes, tree-lined ridges, winding rivers, coastal views, and cultivated fields from Oregon to Montana to Eastern and Western Washington. Since 1997, she has been exhibiting regularly at Lisa Harris Gallery, now Harris Harvey Gallery. Her work can be found in corporate collections and private homes nationally.
