These handcrafted beaded baby moccasins by Wendy Boivin of Wendy's Bearzwear Designs (Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin) are made from soft tanned buckskin and feature a beautiful tulip design in green and blue beads. Rooted in Anishinaabe tradition, each pair includes a small hole-symbolizing that the baby has not yet walked and is not ready to return to the spirit world. A meaningful blend of cultural heritage and exquisite craftsmanship.
A sterling silver rattle accompanies the moccasins. Made by Kirk Smith, a Navajo silversmith and artist known for his traditional jewelry crafted with high-grade metal and stones. He began working with silver at a young age and became a highly respected figure in the jewelry industry. His work was characterized by its quality craftsmanship and the use of only the best materials. Tragically, Kirk died in a car accident in 2012 at the age if 55, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful and collectible Navajo jewelry. His contribution to the art of silversmithing and his dedication to his craft have left a lasting impact on the community and collectors alike. Measures 3 inches long.
