"Grandma's Weaving" is a striking 11x14 photoweaving by Navajo artist Edra Begay of Seba Dalkai, AZ. Shot with a 35mm camera in the 1990s, the original image of Grandma weaving a Navajo rug was digitally formatted and printed on metallic photo paper. Two photos were cut into strips and intricately woven together, forming a patterned design that echoes traditional weaving techniques. Edra Begay is of the Tsi'naajinii (Black-Streak of the Forest People), born for the Todich'ii'nii (Bitterwater People), with maternal ties to Kiniyaa'aani (Towering House People) and paternal ties to Ta'neezahnii (Tangle People).
