Artist: Shirley Anne Waipa of Shirley Hootch Jewelry

Crafted from walrus ivory, these post earrings represent a miniature carving of the Yaaruin - the traditional Yup'ik young girl's story knife. Historically used to carve teaching stories into mud, wet sand, or snow, the Yaaruin helped pass down valuable lessons, amusing tales, and the cherished values of the Yup'ik people.

Dimensions: 1 1/8" x 3/8"
