What is Gala?

On Friday, April 4, 2025, PS 199 PTA is hosting the largest fundraising event of the school year!  It is a FUN adults-only night out to bring our community together to raise critical funds for our amazing school! The Gala has a live auction and an online auction. 

What is this year's theme?

 Tropical Escape: Get ready to escape to paradise-where the tropics meet elegance!

Where do the funds raised go?

The Gala raises over 40% of our PTA budget every year. Funds raised benefit our children directly ie: supplies, technologies, enrichment programs, field trips, and community events that enrich and broaden our learners' educational experience.

 What is the event schedule?

The event will take place at the Ascent Lounge from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, there will be a premium open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, buffet, DJ, dancing, and live auction. Doors will open at 6pm. The program will begin at approximately 7:30pm and will include some opening remarks followed by the live auction that will be wrapped up by 9:00pm. Dancing and desserts will follow. 

What is the auction?

The Gala will consist of a live auction at the event and an online auction. 

• Live Auction: We have a wonderful auctioneer that will conduct our live auction during the event. This is where we auction off some of our biggest items-it's very fun and exciting! In previous years we've auctioned off items like hotel, concert. show tickets, private wine tasting, vacation packages, and even a cruise! You could bid on an item with a group of friends! We will also have a 50/50 raffle.

• Online Auction: Join us for our online auction during Gala week! The auction features exciting items like Teacher Playdates, Class Projects, and more. Visit the "Browse, Bid & Buy" section. 

  Friends and family are welcome-spread the word.

Need outfit inspo?

Dressed to party in paradise style - Florals, sun dresses, bright colors!  It's a festive night to get dressed up and have fun with the theme. Cocktail attire is appropriate.
