Gather your best birding buddies and join renowned ornithologist Scott Rashid of the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute for an intimate, small-group experience in Barn Owl banding! This is a unique, hands-on opportunity for 4-6 people to observe these fascinating nocturnal birds up close while contributing to conservation research.
Learn about Barn Owl behavior, diet, habitat, and conservation efforts from an experienced ornithologist. The banding process involves weighing, measuring, and placing a lightweight, harmless band on the owl's leg. As Scott carefully retrieves the owl, you'll be able to see their intricate feather patterns, sharp talons, and captivating eyes up close. This is a rare opportunity to experience these elusive birds in a way few people ever do!
