This exclusive offer is designed for FOUR (4) individuals to partake in SWAT training scenarios. The "SWAT Experience" will begin with a meet & greet with SWAT officers at the SWAT hangar for a tour of the facility where all vehicles and weaponry are stored.

You will experience the following:

Depending upon availability, ride across town in an armored vehicle (either the Bear or BearCat) to the location of the LVMPD's firearm and SWAT ranges.

Sniper Team: The snipers will give a complete description and demonstration. You will learn about a sniper's positioning, responsibilities, types of weapons, and weapon platforms. Following this discussion, you can shoot each weapon under the control and direction of a designated sniper.

Breacher Team: In the breaching section, you will learn from a designated explosive Breacher about his role, positioning, responsibilities, and a general overview of explosive breaching capabilities. Following this discussion, a live breaching demonstration will show how SWAT officers can gain entry via explosive charges and witness the difference between various types of breaches.

Low Lethal Team: At the SWAT shooting range, a complete explanation of low-lethal weapons is given, along with a description of the gas/low lethality operator's role, positioning, and responsibilities. Following this discussion, each low-lethal weapon will be demonstrated, and you will have the opportunity to shoot various low-lethal and lethal weapons under a designated officer's direction and control.
Entry Team: At the nearby FBI house, a complete description of the SWAT entry role, including positioning and individual/team responsibilities, will be discussed. You will then be able to observe a live demonstration of SWAT Officers searching and clearing the house from above.

Eligibility: The recipient must BE 18 or older and pass an LVMPD background check. LVMPD reserves the right to refuse or cancel the experience if it does not meet department policy or raises community safety concerns.

Date of Experience: The SWAT Experience is conducted twice a year on preselected dates in the spring and fall.
