Collectors who love food and wine are likely to own at least one of Guy Buffet's famous whimsical portraits of chefs, waiters, and restaurant scenes that are loved by so many * The acclaimed artist was born in Paris in the district of Montparnasse in 1943. He grew up in a family that owned a restaurant and before becoming an artist, he held several jobs in the kitchen and the dining room * After spending one summer in the country with an artist friend of the family, he fell in love with the smells and the feelings of an artist's studio. Enlisting in the Beaux Arts School of Toulon at age 14, Buffet studied art full time. He loved the palettes of bright colors and canvasses that were pure joie de vivre! *They were contagious, leaving a mark that has lasted throughout his 50-year career.
