About Karen Bailey
Karen Bailey is Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Head of Production at Starz. Based in the company's Santa Monica office, Bailey oversees the creative development and production of several acclaimed series for the network, including Outlander, P-Valley, and the highly anticipated Blood of My Blood and Spartacus: House of Ashur.
Bailey joined Starz in 2006 as an executive producer and was promoted to Vice President of Production the following year. In this role, she oversaw physical production for the company's newly launched Original Programming department. She spent the subsequent years building the internal production team and guiding the network's growing slate of original series, including fan-favorite Crash and Starz's first international series, Camelot. In 2011, Bailey transitioned to creative development and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Original Programming in 2012. Since then, she has spearheaded numerous international co-productions, including the Golden Globe and Emmy -nominated STARZ Original Miniseries The White Queen and its critically acclaimed follow-up, The White Princess. She served as the lead creative executive on the Golden Globe and Emmy -nominated limited series The Missing and its sequel, as well as Howard's End, a four-part adaptation written by Academy Award winner Kenneth Lonergan, and Starz's first made-for-television movie, The Dresser, starring Ian McKellen and Anthony Hopkins. Bailey was promoted to Executive Vice President of Programming in 2020 and added the title of Head of Production in 2024.
