James Warren has a BS degree from ECU in industrial arts and a masters degree in rehabilitation studies. He had a career as a Rehabilitation Engineer with the State of North Carolina. He has spent his life exploring creative design concepts in the construction industry, and in home designs for people with disabilities.

James' creative efforts range from furniture building to design and creation of stringed musical instruments. He also enjoys jewelry making including enameling and repurposing old silverware into bracelets.

For the past two and a half years James has focused on photography and watercolor painting. He has had several classes, but is mostly self taught. He is retired and spends most of his time traveling, taking photos, and creating watercolor paintings from his photos. His inspiration for creating art is found in nature and focused on reflections, shadows, musical themes, boats, and water birds. He finds great beauty in nature and it steers his vision as he explores and creates. He shares his passion for art with his art, who is also an artist and a great inspiration for him.
