Jillian Goldberg is an abstract, contemporary mixed-media artist. Her first love is working in acrylics on large canvases, but she also enjoys exploring collage and watercolors on paper and wood panel. Her work reflects her love of bold architectural shapes inspired by travels in Europe and the Middle East. Strong, clear, saturated color choices suggest the sunlight of her coastal childhood in South Africa. Jillian attended the Michaelis School of Art at the University of Cape Town, graduating with a teaching degree in studio art. After immigrating to the USA with her family in 1982, she taught art at all levels for over thirty years in Charlotte and in the Triangle, North Carolina. Since retiring from full-time art education in 2006, she has been painting and showing work in juried group and solo shows in the area. She has been a founding member of two cooperative galleries and has been represented by two galleries in the Charlotte area. In 2019, she was successful in mounting a three-woman show at the NC Greenville Museum of Art. One of her works is in the permanent collection.
