Artist Bio:

Andrea Donnelly has been weaving for twenty years, almost half of her life. She received an MFA in Fiber from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work is included in a growing number of collections including the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Capital One, Dominion Energy, Markel Corporation, and TIAA. Exhibitions include the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Mint Museum, the Taubman Museum, 1708 Gallery, Reynolds Gallery, and Virginia Commonwealth University's Institute for Contemporary Art. She has received multiple grants from both CultureWorks and the Center for Craft, a Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation Grant, the Brandford Elliot Award, and was a 2022 Center for Craft Career Advancement Fellow. She is connected to the North Carolina mountains through Penland School of Crafts, where she has taught weaving classes multiple times, most recently in the spring of 2023.
