Artist Bio:

Natalie Sullivan is a fiber artist living and working in Richmond, VA. In 2020, after a decade break from making art, she discovered weaving and quickly embraced it as her medium of choice. Her woven wall hangings use color, texture and the transformative properties of fiber to explore the relationship between humanity and nature. An amalgamation of hand-spun specialty fibers, thrifted yarns and botanically dyed cloth come together on organic forms that push off the wall, challenging the lines between painting, sculpture and craft. Natalie studied Painting and received her BFA from VCU and her MFA from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited in group shows at Art Fields in Lake City, NC; Hilliard Gallery in Kansas City, MO; and Gallery5 and Visual Arts Center in Richmond, VA.
