Artist Bio

NUNU is the ceramics and design practice of Jess Gary and is based Richmond, Virginia. With a career in the art and design world that spans 15+ years, Jess has dedicated her life to making and studying beautiful things. In 2019, seeking a creative outlet separate from her day job, Jess signed up for a beginner wheel class at a community studio and the rest is history.

Raised in the Mojave Desert, Jess brings the open skies and stark beauty of her California childhood into every design. Clean lines, negative space, and simplicity of form are at the heart of her work, but each piece has its own personality. It's all about creating pieces that feel modern yet timeless, playful and personal-objects you'll live with and love for years to come.
