Join Us!
As the world's largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, we've played a role in nearly every major development in dementia science. A groundswell of support from companies, families, and individuals over the past 40 years has mobilized the Alzheimer's Association into the global leader with the highest impact in Alzheimer's research. We continue to fuel national transformation while expanding our local impact.
The day is coming. It's not a matter of if, It's a matter of when. The time is now. Together we will change the trajectory of this disease.
Master of Ceremonies
Steve Eagar
We are pleased to welcome Steve Eagar again this year as our Emcee to spark excitement at our Gala! Steve is a reporter and evening news anchor for KDFW Fox 4 News, where for more than 28 years he's been a trusted source for news and reporting in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Steve is the perfect fit to showcase the Dallas & Northeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association's fifth annual Gala for all those near and far to show their support for an exceptional cause.
Honorary Chairs - Ken and Fay Moraif
Ken and Fay Moraif are thrilled to be a part of the mission and contribution that the Dallas Northeast Texas Alzheimer's Association has made in supporting those impacted by Alzheimer's and other dementias, and they are excited to be part of their efforts to raise awareness, provide caregiver support, improve treatment, and ultimately find a cure.
By serving as Honorary Chairs, the Moraifs wish to honor all of those diligently serving in the capacity of caregivers, researchers, and health care practitioners involved in the support of those suffering, and the tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers across the country who are engaged in the fight to end Alzheimer's.
Fay worked as an RN in the intensive care unit prior to obtaining a master's degree in Health Science and completing her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) residency. While working as a CRNA, Fay also founded and operated an anesthesia staffing firm. Her exposure to patients with organic brain disease ignited a lasting interest in improving the treatment possibilities for those suffering with the debilitating effects of these conditions. Now retired, Fay enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and participating in several organizations focused on her interests in literature, cuisine, French language, and philanthropy.
Ken is the Founder and CEO of Retirement Planners of America (RPOA), an investment advisory firm based in Plano with 14 locations throughout the Southwest. RPOA specializes in retirement planning for individuals over age 50 and currently manages over $3.58 billion for approximately 6,600 families in 48 states (as of 12/31/2023.) For more than 25 years, Ken has also hosted the popular weekly radio show and podcast, "Money Matters with Ken Moraif," providing listeners with financial planning tips designed to make their money last as long as they do.
In 2021, the Moraif's passion and commitment to community service helped inspire the employees at RPOA to start RPOA Cares. After learning more about the important work the Alzheimer's Association is doing to end Alzheimer's, the RPOA Cares team participated in the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's and was honored to be named "Rookie Team of the Year," coming in third place in total fundraising. In 2022 and 2023, the RPOA Cares team has been a top team for the Dallas Walk to End Alzheimer's. Since 2021, RPOA Cares has raised over $350K for the Alzheimer's Association.
