Get a head start on your driving education with Dwight-Englewood School's Summer Driver Education Theory Course. Course runs June 9-12 with orientation on May 19 on campus.

Driver's Ed at D-E School is administered in-person through D-E 360Ã'° in partnership with FNL Driving School, to high school students at least 15 years old as of June 1, 2025. Students must also reside in New Jersey. This in person course is given by Mrs. Nancy Lustenberger, formerly of the D-E Physical Education Department. The course fulfills the requirement of the New Jersey State written exam.The course is limited to 50 participants.

If both behind-the-wheel and classroom courses are taken, the student is eligible for a reduction in auto insurance until the age of 21. Students must complete six (6) hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, which may be arranged independently with Mrs. Lustenberger, in order to earn a learner's permit by the age of 16.

Students are required to have their driver's permit for a minimum of six months and have turned the age of 17, before they can be eligible to get their license. Those who already have a permit, but did not complete a classroom course, can enroll to receive a certificate toward their automobile insurance reduction.

Summer Spark and Segue is offered for students in Preschool through Grade 6 and a Leadership Mentoring Program for Grades 7-10 (First Aid/CPR Certification included). Summer Spark is the perfect place to land between the end of a great school year and the beginning of the Summer Camp/Vacation Season. Introduction to Programming with Java (June 16-27)

This course is designed to introduce students to the Java programming language! The course will cover everything from the fundamental syntax of the Java language all the way up to the powerful object-oriented programming paradigm and the subtleties of inheritance. This course is designed to thoroughly prepare students for Advanced Placement Computer Science in addition to introducing them to algorithm development and problem-solving techniques.

Introduction to Programming with Python (August 11-22)

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some basic coding knowledge, this course will equip you with fundamental skills and ignite your passion for coding. Topics covered will include algorithmic thinking, variables and data types, loops and conditional statements, functions, data structures, files, and graphics.

Experience a blend of hands-on exercises, stimulating coding challenges, and creative projects designed to solidify your learning journey. You'll be encouraged to apply your newly acquired skills through practical projects that mirror real-world scenarios. Students must bring their own computers (Mac or PC), and all necessary software will be provided by the instructor.

By the successful completion of the course, students will be ready to enroll in AP Computer Science.

D-E 360's 2-for-1 Universal Sports Camp offers sports training for children in kindergarten through grade 8, under the guidance of Coach Medina. June 23-27 and June 30-July 3 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to improve athletic skills! At 2-4-1 Dwight-Englewood, we put play back into sports! Our camp is designed for all kids-not just those with sports experience. We focus on helping children explore a variety of sports in a supportive and engaging environment, showing them how play can positively impact their physical and mental well-being.
