Jimmy Carter

By Wayne Brezinka
Fine Art 11 x 14 Digital Print, Framed
Singed by the artist

"I was inspired to create this image of President Carter after reflecting on his long life of humble service. Mr. Carter was a man of good character, inspiring others to become good humans through his advocacy work for affordable housing alongside Habitat for Humanity for over 30 years, his 75 year marriage commitment to his wife Rosalynn, teaching at Emory University, his work to eradicate Guinea worm disease, his service as Lieutenant James Earl Carter Jr. in the U.S. Navy, and so much more."

Wayne's unique style of portraiture incorporates detailed mixed media and assemblage techniques applied to discarded and repurposed materials. His process includes research into the stories of his subject's life and work, and acquisition of rare, personal ephemera to incorporate into the portrait. The result is a portrait that reflects not only the visage of the subject, but also provides a bread crumb trail the viewer can trace to engage with the complexity of the individual behind the image.
