Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1986--a famous French Bordeaux wine from the estate of the Baron Lafite Rothschild one of France's oldest aristocratic families. A true gem of a wine rated as "RP100" by The Wine Advocate. For the wine experts it has a very high shoulder fill, light bin soiling on the label and has been stored in climate-controlled environment. The least expensive online through vinopedia.com is $900 in the USA. Price range is up to $3,500. The Wine Advocate states: "The 1986 possesses outstanding richness, a deep color, medium body, a graceful harmonious texture, and superb length. The penetrating fragrance of cedar, chestnuts, minerals, and rich fruit is a hallmark of this wine. Powerful, dense, rich, and tannic, as well as medium to full-bodied, with awesome extraction of fruit, this Lafite has immense potential. Patience is required. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2030. Last tasted 10/94. Donor: Tony James
