City River Sky 4

Monoprint/Woodcut printed on Japanese paper
20 x 16"

Artist statement
This series of multiple woodblock prints are inspired by time spent on the Schuylkill River. The depiction of industrial structures and natural areas in these prints come together as a series of colorful inverted skylines that reveal both the present and the past of the waterway. This series is printed from an older set of carved blocks but are printed in different combinations and positions on Japanese paper and then mounted on cotton rag paper. Because each print in the series was printed in a different manner the prints are monoprints and therefore one-of-a-kind.
