Artist Statement
I use universal symbols like eggs, nests, and marine life to explore the concept of time. The intention is to draw attention to
endangered species and our fragile marine environment. My travels and experiences, especially in Bonaire, influence my work, I use various mediums and materials to capture the intricate beauty of our fragile world.
Artist Bio
My 1860s farmhouse in Elkins Park provides a peaceful, inspiring setting for my work, which blends a love for nature with a passion for nature. After studying glass, ancient civilizations, and the natural world, I started a small business making glass beads and jewelry. Currently, much of my creative focus is on marine life in Bonaire. Where I volunteer as a "reef surveyor" for Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire. Through this role, I observe sea turtles and marine creatures, using these experiences to create paintings and glass works that capture the beauty and fragility of underwater ecosystems. My artwork emphasizes threatened species, environmental challenges, and the intricate details of the seascape.
