Artist Statement

I specialize in atmospheric paintings that evoke emotional spaces. My long-standing meditation practice informs my work. The paintings that connect with viewers through our shared consciousness open the door to a spiritual world, offering a sense of transcendence, a glimpse into an existence apart from everyday activities.
The pieces on paper that have been submitted are ink-wash, watercolor, or acrylic paint. In each case, I was striving to incorporate the properties of the medium into the painting itself. For all of these, I was committed to the fundamental challenge of producing something alive, something that communicates to others, and something that exists in the world for the first time. Throughout the work, I sought a state of automatic flow. While I'm conscious of my choices-observing what emerges and deciding what comes next-I was seeking an ideal state of pure creation where I would simply follow the work's inherent energy.

Artist Bio

RM Cimini, a fine artist lives and works in Delaware. Featured in multiple group and solo exhibitions, her work was notably included in an exhibit at the Belskie Museum in Closter, NJ, and the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, NJ. She served, from 8/2016 until 6/2019, as President of Studio Montclair, a non-profit visual arts organization. An inducted member of the National Association of Women Artists, she holds an MFA in painting and sculpture from Bennington College. Her work is held in private collections in the United States and abroad and in the public collections of Atlantic Health Systems, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the MC Hotel.
