Artist Bio
My work has been widely exhibited in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. It is held in private and public collections, including the International Quilt Museum and Study Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, Park Towne Place Art Collection, the Fox School of Business at Temple University, and Jefferson University and Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
I started my career in urban planning and community development and co-founded Equal Measure (formerly The OMG Center), a national social research group. Today, in addition to being a studio artist, I am an avid promoter of contemporary textile art in the broader fine arts world. I was instrumental in the traveling of two widely acclaimed textile exhibits, the Color Improvisations 2 in North America and Material Pulses: Seven Viewpoints. I am currently collaborating with a team of leading national textile organizations in Beyond the Surface: Contemporary Artists and Textile Printing, an exhibition that will open at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, NY, in the fall of 2024.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Carnegie Mellon University. I earned a Master's degree in Psychology from Temple University and hold a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
A lifelong urbanite, I grew up in Yonkers, NY, among a large extended family of many working in the textile industry. I currently live and work in the Italian Market neighborhood of Philadelphia.
