Artist Bio

Passionate about design, and also wearability, Philadelphia based metalsmith-jewelry designer, Lisa Vershbow, moved to Philadelphia five years ago from Washington DC. For over 30 years she was a resident artist at The Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia and on the metals faculty in The Art League Community Art School. Lisa was one of the founding members of the Washington Guild of Goldsmilths and served as its president,1994-96. She also spent time living abroad with her diplomat partner where she maintained a studio. Most notable were her years in Russia (2001-2005) and South Korea (2005-2008) where she exhibited widely and taught master classes. Lisa received the 2005 "Avis Bolen Award" from the American Foreign Service Association for public diplomacy in the arts while in Russia. She is a graduate of Connecticut college in Art and Art History.
