Manciano, in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, is a short 1.5-hour drive from Rome, and just 30 minutes from the enchanting seaside villages of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole. Rich in medieval history, Manciano has a beautifully maintained "old town" and a 12th Century castle, and has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. The town offers views of the gentle hills that extend inland toward the mountains and down toward the sea, and nearby hot springs have been gushing water since the Roman period.
