Experience the world-famous Lamar Valley, the heart of wolf conservation! This is where it all began-when wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in 1995, they were released here, making the valley one of the best places in the world to observe wild wolves. After a restful night at our host hotel, you'll meet renowned wolf expert Rick McIntyre to begin your journey. Your day starts before dawn at a designated meeting spot, where you and Rick set out to track wolves in their natural habitat.
With your own transportation and snacks, you'll move between locations based on where the wolves are active that day. No matter what unfolds, this is an experience you'll never forget!

Pro Tip: Consider renting a spotting scope for the best possible viewing experience.

  • A morning of wolf watching with Rick McIntyre. Visit is early morning, up to four guests.
  • Average time is 3 to 4 hours.
  • Food and transportation are own responsibility.

For lodging, enjoy a stay at:

  • Two nights at Absaroka Lodge or Yellowstone Big Rock Inn.

Take some fun swag with you on your trip!

  • The Wolves of Yellowstone-A Rewilding Story by Catherine Bark/Jenni Desmond.
  • Thinking Like A Wolf by Rick McIntyre-signed copy.
  • Wolf tote.
  • Wolf water bottle.
