4 Watchers

Grizzly 399, born in 1996, was a legendary grizzly who made her home in Grand Teton National Park. She was a great ambassador for her species and gave birth to several litters of cubs. In 2020 she gave birth to four cubs!

Amber has commemorated her in this beautiful piece of her fully immersed swimming in the river.

  • Canvas print of Grizzly 399.
  • 12"x12".

Artist statement:

"My goal as a Western wildlife artist is to capture the beauty and spirit of each individual animal. I create paintings that not only speak to my soul, but ones that buyers want to look at every time they walk into their home. Sometimes the animals are painted in their natural habitat, and other times with a dark background to enhance the focus on the animal's face and expression. My ability to bring the animal to life lies within my brushwork depicting their eyes and fur. My splatter technique adds a contemporary element and is a part of my signature style. I've heard from viewers and collectors that the splatters remind them of rain, dew from the animal's fur, saliva flinging from their mouths, or a refreshing drink from a stream. Living in Montana, I am blessed to experience these amazing animals in person which inspires me to be the best artist that I can be."
