The nose has earthy notes with blackberries and a hint of toast like creme brulee with black pepper. The palate is very dense with soft tannin and a long finish of red cherry. It will pair perfectly with duck confit, stews and other rich meat dishes. While this wine drinks beautifully now it will continue to improve over the next decade.

Coquerel Wines' estate "Walnut Wash" vineyard sits in the afternoon shadows of the Mayacamas Mountains at the north end of Napa Valley in the Calistoga AVA.
