My handwriting and sketches were praised by my elementary school teachers and I liked having a little recognition thrown my way, all kids do. As I got older, my mother, an artist told me, "I think you might be a good painter." My dad, a mechanical engineer told me, "get a degree where you can get a job and support yourself." So, that's what I did, the dad-version. But, I also took as many art electives as possible.

I LOVE color. You will see that in my paintings. And I love how color and form interact to strengthen each other. I also love to oil paint. No other medium can bring you the colors that oils can. Also, when (not if), you screw up, you can paint over it, wipe the paint off, scrape the paint off and keep going. Oils are such a forgiving medium which makes me love them even more. I want the colors to jump off the canvas and into your arms.

I have been fortunate to study painting under some talented artists and teachers; Guildo Frick, the famous Russian Expressionist artist who was a student of Sergi Bongart, Linda Ellen Price, Sara Beth Fair, Gina Brown, and Cynthia Parsons.
