Chantelle Chapman

Linocut

5" x 7"

Chantelle Chapman is a graduate of the School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State University,
where she earned a BFA in Art with a minor in Art History (summa cum laude). The daughter of
a painter, Chantelle was born in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, where she grew up
surrounded by the beauty of art and nature. Her greatest source of inspiration is the abiding
passion for natural history that was kindled during those early years.

Working in a variety of traditional media, from oil to ink to gouache, Chantelle uses her art as a powerful
storytelling tool, combining written and visual media to craft compelling narratives drawn from the natural
world, with a strong scientific grounding. Chantelle has conducted in-person research amid the
collections of institutions such as the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Currently, she is
working on multiple projects on the theme of extinct and endangered birds, which she hopes to publish in
the future. Her work can be found on Instagram @ChantelleChapman, and on her website,
