Meet our Honorees:

Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson

Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson is the Senior Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York. Throughout the decades, Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center (now WCHC) and Grace Baptist Church have shared a special relationship focused on addressing the health and well-being of community members. Under Dr. Richardson's leadership, we have partnered on vaccine drives, health fairs, community events, and other initiatives. Dr. Richardson believes in being a voice for the voiceless, feeding those who are hungry, providing shelter for those who are homeless, challenging systems that are unjust and unfair, and seeking justice for the marginalized and victimized. In his current post and in the other roles he fills - Chairman of the Conference of National Black Churches, Chairman of the National Action Network, Chairman of Virginia Union University, and Board Member of Comcast and Pepsico - Dr. Richardson purposefully lives within his life's mission and constantly works to be a positive force for change for all those he serves.

914Cares is an organization focused on ending the hardships of poverty for Westchester County residents. They work closely with 125 local organizations, including WCHC, to distribute assistance resources and items to those in need. These resources ensure that residents have the essentials required to earn a living, succeed in school, and live safely and with dignity. At our WCHC Greenburgh and WCHC Mount Vernon locations, 914Care's regular deliveries of essential products for new families and mothers have been life-changing. In addition, 914Cares has been at the forefront of educating the public about poverty in Westchester County and inspiring community action.
