Jill Siedel's horse sculpture features a collage of patterns, with freehand flowers adding a vibrant, organic touch reminiscent of fabric. Using vinyl transfer as a resist, Jill created an intricate quilt- and sashiko-inspired pattern, while a graphite transfer technique was used to trace a letter written by her mom, sharing her personal history with horses. The combination of these elements reflects Jill's ability to blend personal stories with artistic techniques, resulting in a piece that resonates both visually and emotionally.

Whiffle and Wander, a business crafted from the hands of Jill, is a collection of pottery encompassing mugs, planters, luminaries, and an array of functional ware. Her creations are feminine and energetic and while Jill is a never-satisfied perfectionist, she also knows the most perfect things involve character, like the quirks of our beloved pets. Naturally, Whiffle and Wander was named after one of Jill's spirited pups.

Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of handicrafts such as script, knitting, sewing, and embroidery-arts passed down through women and generations in her family-Jill's pottery reflects a deep connection to heritage and the continuity of craft. Her ceramic journey began in 2017, but the pivotal moment in developing her style came through creating the centerpieces for her sister's wedding. Family, both in its shared history and cherished moments, continues to influence her approach, infusing her work with sentiment and meaning.
