Mount Elbert, 14,443': Viewed from the southeast. On the tribal lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho.

ARTIST NOTES: Looking for Colorado cred? Mount Elbert is the state's highest peak. Like Mount Evans, it is named for a Colorado governor with a bad reputation for his mistreatment of the state's First People. Elbert is a long, steep slog to the summit, so if you make it, you deserve a poster. And maybe a nice meal in Aspen, just to the west, over Independence Pass.
