2025 Hightower Award: President Jimmy Carter

Each year, the Hightower Award is presented to an individual whose efforts and dedication have had a lasting and positive impact on Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and its community. This year, we are honored to present the Hightower Award to President Jimmy Carter-a leader, visionary, and steadfast advocate for public lands. His efforts were instrumental in establishing CRNRA, ensuring that the Chattahoochee River and its surrounding lands would be protected for generations to come. 

With his passing in December 2024, there is no one more fitting to receive this tribute. On March 25th, we'll gather to celebrate his remarkable contributions, reflect on his legacy, and carry forward the work he helped begin.
