This custom made 18k yellow gold ring has been designed and set with a 10.5 x 8 mm oval cabochon cut fire opal. This beautiful stone is flaming red orange. The ring shank is rounded for a very comfortable fit and the gold is textured for a vintage feel.

Fire opals are incredible stones. Glowing from within - mesmerizing. The Interior is polished to a mirror finish so the stone's clean brightness will not be disturbed by the metal. Set in textured 18k gold allows the richness of the color that fans the flame so well

The fire opal was prized by Mayan and Aztec peoples, who called it "quetzalitzlipyollitli" or, "the stone of the bird of paradise."
