This beautiful large olive wood chess board from North Africa can be both something for display and play!

This comes with a bees wax to keep the board beautiful.

We've included some Peanut Brittle from The Monastery of the Angels for a little snack to share with your opponent or not!

Did you know that St. Teresa of Ávila is the patron Saint of chess?

The Carmelite nun, author, and mystic who lived in the 1500s, Teresa is known for her writings about chess, which she used as an analogy to describe the Christian preparation for prayer. We've included a copy of The Way of Perfection which ,
in 1566, was a guide for her Carmelite sisters and monks. She used chess to describe how Christians should prepare for prayer. She advised her nuns to "play chess" in prayer to "checkmate the Lord"
