A description of this afgan:

Developed remembering the gardens of the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakesh.. The colors and shapes within the Museum walls have inspired the design. Le Jardin Marjorelle was created by French artist Jarjorelle over the course of more than 4 decades, from 1923. Later purchased by Saint Laurent, and his partner Pierre Berge, it was Berge who restored and maintained it.

Handcrafted by a dedicated Mission Doctor Auxiliary member, who wishes to remain anonymous, this beautiful afgan was begun in the summer, and I was able to pick it up mid January.

I asked this longtime friend and supporter of the lifesaving work of MDA if she thought she had put 2000 hours into this project, since it is so complex, has so many colors, and must require changing colors so often! Her response was just a shy smile, and raised eyebrows - I asked "so should I say - at least 2000 hours" then I got a nod!

She shared that if it brings in support for the doctors, who sacrifice so much, every hour will be worth it! (Oh, and I picked this up as her daughter was coming to evacuate her during the fires. She wanted to be sure it was in my hands!)

Your bids support the sacrifice of our Mission Doctors and their families, and honors the hours that our dear friend put into this beautiful project.
